Nail trimming is one of the main triggers for fear, anxiety and stress in our dogs.  Fear of hurting the dog and/or hitting the quick is the number one reason why many owners do not clip the nails often enough.  Long nails are the #1 orthopaedic problem I see in my practice.

I prefer grinding to clipping because the risk of hitting the quick is greatly reduced and there is no chance of pinching or hurting the dog.  “Little and often” is the name of the game when using a nail grinder particularly when you want the quicks to recede.  I got so tired of referring my clients to other sources, that I have imported stock myself of these handy little rechargeables.  All you need is the USB port on your computer or power bank to recharge the device.
