In 2009, I started The Balanced Dog with nothing but a love for dogs and experience in management from my first career.   Dog massage was unheard of in the New Zealand market.

Since then, I’ve navigated the highs and lows firsthand — the slow seasons, two earthquakes, Covid-19 shutdowns, the stress and successes of being self-employed.  I’ve also watched too many pet businesses come and go – so there’s no wonder that some customers view and act like a pet business is a ‘hobby business.’  My business is not a hobby!
