The Christchurch City Council has proposed a number of changes to dog control. Whilst some changes are useful and should be supported, the introduction of additional short leash requirements in most of our city is unjustified considering the Council’s own data. Good dog owners and dogs are being let down by a lack of enforcement of current regulations. The links above are a template for a submission; you must supply your name, address and email.
We encourage you to indicate you wish to be heard and to provide a telephone number for contact when hearings are scheduled (you can always decide not to speak at the hearing later – but it adds weight to our submissions if you say you want to be heard). When you are finished editing your submission, save it to your computer and then email it to letstalk@ccc.govt.nz You only have until 15th December to submit! We need as many individuals as possible making submissions. Every adult in your household can submit as an individual; your friends can submit too. You do not have to be a dog owner to make a submission.
