Nail trimming is one of the main triggers for fear, anxiety and stress in our dogs.  Fear of hurting the dog and/or hitting the quick is the number one reason why many owners do not clip the nails often enough.  Long nails are the #1 orthopaedic problem I see in my practice.

I prefer grinding to clipping because the risk of hitting the quick is greatly reduced.  “Little and often” is the name of the game when using a nail grinder particularly when you want the quicks to recede.  I got so tired of referring my clients to other sources, that I have imported stock myself of these handy little rechargeables.  All you need is the USB port on your computer or power bank to recharge the device.
